As a member of the LGBTQ community, a parent, and a renter, I believe my personal experience will bring a needed perspective to the legislature.
I grew up in Billings, MT - attended Billings’ public schools, played Little League in the park, and swam in the Yellowstone River in the summer. I first moved to Missoula to attend undergrad at the University of Montana. And I now feel fortunate to call Missoula my home, where I live with my partner, my twelve-year-old son, and our cats.
My work as a community organizer began as an undergraduate at the University of Montana. I have worked on issues from healthcare access, living wages, LGBTQ rights, criminal justice reform, and revenue. I am currently the Executive Director of a statewide non-profit organization, Montana Women Vote, a job I’ve held for the last ten years.
Through my work at Montana Women Vote, I have worked as an advocate and organizer at the state legislature from 2013-2021. I worked to pass Medicaid expansion, to create a state Earned Income Tax Credit, to protect access to reproductive health care, and make our criminal justice system more fair for people living in poverty.
After working for years as an advocate, I am excited and ready to bring my experience to the Montana legislature. My focus will continue to be supporting all of Montana communities, increasing access to health care, and investing in Montana’s future.
